How long does the installation process take?
Typically we can install a home solar system less than one month after purchase. A number of factors affect this timeline – the local permitting and inspection processes, the size and type of solar system, the property’s characteristics, your utility company, etc. – but we work hard to ensure that you’re not waiting for long.
Due to their larger scope and a more complex process for permitting and design, commercial solar systems require more time for installation. Typically they take six months from purchase to completion.
Remember that a project’s timeline is very dependent on your local government and how quickly it can issue the necessary permits and inspect your system post-installation. If these government offices are busy, you may need to wait longer than you had hoped. In addition, if your home requires upgrades to support a solar system (such as re-roofing, upgrading your electrical panel, or reinforcing your roof), the process will take longer. The actual installation of the solar equipment is typically the quickest part of the procedure.
